  • Despite a median household income that isn’t among Florida’s lowest, Polk County ranks 63rd of 67 counties in per-pupil funding.
  • For the 2023–24 school year, Polk County earned a C grade overall, placing Polk County in the bottom tier of Florida’s districts—ranking approximately 56th out of 67 districts

Our Academic Vision
At Bright Imaginations Prep, we pride ourselves on meeting each learner where they are, ensuring every student feels valued and supported from day one. Upon their immediate interaction with us, we will assess their current academic level using research-based pre-assessment tools, carefully selected to closely align with NWEA Map and/or ACT or SAT standards. This initial assessment will serve as the foundation for creating a personalized blueprint, guiding each student's academic journey.
We believe in a hands-on, engaging approach to learning.
Personalized Learning Pathways:
  • Develop individualized learning pathways based on the baseline assessments created for each student. This will include creating personalized learning goals and progress monitoring to ensure students are progressing.
Hands-On, Experiential Learning:
  • Begin each unit with hands-on, project-based learning experiences that help students engage with the material in a practical, real-world context.
Mastery-Based Approach:
  • Introduce the concept of mastery early on, ensuring that each student understands they must fully grasp a concept before moving on to the next. This promotes a growth mindset and reduces anxiety around grades.
  • Provide opportunities for students to revisit and reinforce challenging concepts, allowing them to demonstrate progress in a non-punitive, stress-free environment.
  • Implement periodic formative assessments to check for understanding, giving immediate feedback and using data to adjust instruction.
Non-Threatening Test Format:
  • Transition into test formats gradually, focusing on providing a low-stakes environment where students are encouraged to show what they know.
